The Feminist Majority Foundation, a national non-profit organization committed to advancing women’s equality, has announced their endorsement of Maura Keller for Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District.  

“Maura Keller will be a dedicated fighter in Congress for women to make their own healthcare decisions without government interference, including about contraception, IVF, and other reproductive healthcare matters. The Feminist Majority PAC strongly supports Maura Keller in her campaign for Congress,” stated Katherine Spillar, the Executive Director of Feminist Majority. 

The endorsement comes less than a hundred days before election day in Georgia, where Maura Keller faces MAGA Republican candidate Brian Jack in the race for Georgia’s 3rd. The seat has never been held by a woman, meaning the election of Maura Keller would be historic for the district. 

“This could not be a more critical time for all those who support women’s equality to get involved,” Spillar continued.

Founded in 1987, Feminist Majority Foundation has spent the last three decades investing in women’s political and social empowerment through research and public policy development, public education programs, grassroots organizing projects, and youth leadership training. In addition to defending women’s access to healthcare, birth control, and educational opportunity, a major priority includes enshrining the Equal Rights Amendment into the U.S. Constitution. The amendment was originally introduced in 1923 to ensure equality of rights under the law regardless of sex, although it has yet to be certified into the Constitution. Georgia, where Keller is running for Congress, is one of the 16 states left that refuse to ratify the ERA.

Maura Keller has been a fierce advocate of the ERA, as it aims to eliminate legal distinctions between sexes in matters of divorce, property, employment, and other areas. She is committed to representing the interests of Georgia’s 3rd District, as well as women and underserved communities across the country, as she has emphasized throughout her campaign. 

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Feminist Majority, an organization that has tirelessly championed the rights of women and marginalized communities,” said Keller. “Together, we will work towards making the Equal Rights Amendment a reality. It is time for the United States to affirm that equality under the law is not just a promise but a guarantee for all.”

Maura Keller joins Congresswomen Nikema Williams and Lucy McBath as the only three candidates in Georgia to receive this prestigious endorsement. The support of the Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF) adds to Keller’s roll of organizational endorsements which also includes the Committee to Protect Health Care and the Georgia AFL-CIO, the largest labor federation in the state.
