Why Vote for a Democrat?

I believe we need to protect our border and prevent people with criminal records from crossing into our country, especially violent criminals. Our current overloaded system needs desperate form, because too many people are going around proper channels to enter the United States. Both parties have had decades to reform our immigration system, but neither have stepped up.

And right now, we obviously need to stop detaining American citizens. We can't round up everyone with an accent and put them in detention centers that look like horror movies. Let's treat people humanely, deport them if we need to, and provide a pathway to citizenship for those who have been living here for decades in peace.

I actually believe this entire discussion is a distraction from issues like inflation, job losses, and healthcare cuts. Bathroom politics are so low down the list of issues that real people care about, including Trans people. In my experience, Trans people want to be left alone to be themselves.

High school sports also do not need to be political. Why are we falling for it? Let's focus on making life easier to live for everyone instead of distractions from rich people who want to cut corporate taxes instead of actually fixing our problems.

Fox News's Brett Baier said it best recently: “I do not want to talk about the WNBA.” As someone who's running for Congress in a State that's 49th in rural healthcare, the WNBA and High School Sports are not at the top of my priority list. If they're at the top of yours, vote for the other guy.

My motto for the crazy expansion of multi-billion dollar hyperscale Data Centers in my District is “Not In Our Backyard.” That's not being a NIMBY, that's understanding how valuable our cheap electricity and water rates are.

Big corporations want to build right next to population centers in Georgia because everything is affordable and in place. They largely give token promises to appease City Councils while constructing plans that grossly overuse water, electricity and sewer capacity, and this is specific to multiple controversial projects around where you live.

You can follow my social media to learn more about my positions on specific Data Centers, but in places like Coweta, Troup, and Fayette Counties, I've been to so many community meetings over the last year and a half. My opponent? Absent.

I also have to point out that he's taken money from people associated with QTS and Project Sail while refusing to comment on their very tangible conflicts within local communities. He'll say something like “This is purely a local issue,” but it's not. Congress has the power to investigate Data Centers, especially ones like QTS Fayetteville that siphoned 29 million gallons of city water without paying a fine. I also support bills to tax the difference between low electricity rates and the national average to prevent runaway development in places like Georgia.

Social Security. Look, we’re in a crisis right now. I know so many other topics are drowning this one out, but if we don’t do something to reform the system before 2032, everyone reading this could be looking at a 24% reduction in their fixed incomes. That’s real. That’s not a lie, no matter what you hear from anywhere else.

We’re facing an insolvency crisis, and we don’t have a serious Congress to make tough decisions. We can’t just stick our heads in the sand like our current crop of Representatives and their $1 Trillion deficit. We need to look at the payroll tax and income caps to make ends meet. You won’t hear my opponent talk about this, but it’s something I take seriously. The most seriously.

My response to this question is the same now as it’s always been: Do you think a communist can obtain Secret clearance while serving as an Officer in the US Army? Do you think a communist can win a General Douglas MacArthur Award for Leadership? What about contract out of the Department of Defense? Work out of the Pentagon?

Yeah, probably not. When I was in Kuwait, I didn’t think my patriotism could be called into question.

Unfortunately, I’m seeing more and more comments suggesting so from people who have never served. I am not a communist, and I in fact enlisted straight out of high school in 1979. As someone who commissioned into an officer during the Reagan Administration, I’m not really the communist type as you might imagine.

I am not a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and have never received any support from that organization. My values align more with the Problem Solvers Caucus—a group of several dozen Republican and Democratic members of Congress who’ve formed a coalition to, in short, get things done.
