FAYETTEVILLE, GA — In a resounding victory Tuesday night, Maura Keller officially became the Democratic nominee for Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District.
“I can’t express enough thanks to all the amazing people who helped our campaign through this long primary season. So many people have knocked on doors, driven hundreds of miles to deliver lawn signs, made phone calls and texts, and donated to our campaign,” Maura said at her watch party in Fayetteville Tuesday night, “My family has been incredibly supportive, and I would be nowhere without my wonderful husband David.”
Maura has grown a cross-party coalition of first time Democratic ticket pullers, local conservationists, and Gen Z voters who discovered her Data Center activism through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
“I’m committed to launching the biggest ground game either party has ever seen in District 3. I’ve spoken to people all over Troup, Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Heard, Carroll, and all of the rest of my counties–none of them appreciate Brian Jack’s high gas prices, and billion dollar ballrooms. We’ll be knocking on more doors, making more phone calls, and reaching out to more Republicans because they want to hear from us this year. We’re expanding staff and starting a fully upgraded operation tomorrow.”
Maura’s coalition building and expansive volunteer network have allowed her to raise the most amount of money a Democrat ever has in a Primary in Georgia’s 3rd, a record $100,000 before May. Now, she’s expanding her staff by hiring former Fayette Young Dems President Alex Waterson and former Fayette County Democrats Communications Chair AJ Flanigan as Campaign Manager and Communications Director, respectively. In addition, she’s expanding internships and launching a brand new outreach series to build a bipartisan movement. See Maura with District 14 Nominee, Shawn Harris, at a veterans outreach event in Rockmart, Georgia on June 16th.
